Mood Board Ideas

Theme: My overall fashion line will be a more simple style. The overall theme is marble and gold, white, black. It will also focus on layering, the matching/ mixing of simple colors and different shapes.

Color theme:

- Gold, sliver, white and black will be the main color choices in my fashion line. I think gold and sliver on white and black will be very eye-catching and sharp. I also think shiny colors or the reflection of the colors will give people a more fresh and new feeling.

Marble & Mixture of colors:

- Marbles gives people a fresh and relaxing type of feeling. I love how causel the lines and shapes can be yet it still gives me people the mood of being grand and it still looks put together.  Marble patterns has been a trend lately but it hasn't really been on fashion much yet, therefore I think I would like to put this trend on fashion as well.

Layering & Lace ups:

- Layering can make a simple piece of fabric become more special and different. The good thing about layering is that it can be used in 2 ways. We can just layer 1 simple peice of frabic or put different layer of clothes in an outfit. Both ways make the outfit more rich. I love how layering can transform a simple piece of frabic into the main focus of the frabic.

- Lace up clothings has also been a big trend lately. Lace up is similar to layering which it is simple yet it can also be the main fcous of the clothing. Lace up can apply to both shoes and clothings.

Shapes, Texture and more layering:

- When I think of my theme for this clothing line, I was inspired by interior designs as well. I saw these interior designs where it has a pattern that they repeat the shapes. I think if I include this element into my design it will look good as well. Since repeating the squares, triangles..etc looks simple yet indifferent.

- I also found out some clothings they look complicated but it is actually just repeating different patterns. Balmain's clothings design look complicated but it is only repeating different patterns and shapes. Repeatition of patterns can give people a simple or a complicated feeling.

- Texture is actually all over the place, even waves, papers can be great texture sources. A good piece of design needs to include both the visual and texture. Texture allows the audiences to enjoy the visual part of it and the actual feeling of it.

1. If you had to create a similar portrait like this, who would you display on the wall and why?

- I would display someone who's influential or helped the country such as the president, big company's director..etc. In this case I would like to have Steve Jobs displayed on the wall because he's a very influential person who craeted Apple and everyone reconizge him. Also, we can remind people that Steve Jobs contributed a lot to our the technological industry and how he tried and experinment a lot of time to sucess. While being an artwork, it can also remind people about Steve Jobs's contribution and as an inspirational person.

2. Where would you want to place it?

- I would want to place it in a tall building in public. This can show how important he is to the the techonology industry and more people can see it and use him as an inspiration. Since nowadays in Hong Kong it's getting very busy and people are working non-stop. Therefore i think we will need some new inspirations for people to try new things and remind them we always need to experience to sucess. Arts in public can also change the atmosphere and make it more relaxing and comfortable.

3. Other than black and white what color would you use? Why?

- I would use bright neon colors such as red/pink, yellow, orange and green to catch people's attention. Neon colors are the most eye-catching and it has the effect to brighten up the mood and atmosphere which it's usually used at night. By displaying neon colors artwork during daytime can make people feel fresh and inspirational. This can make a big comparsion between the black and white colors that have been used before. The colors can also show how passion and how Steve Jobs led us to the new stage of technological advancement.
