Starbucks artist moment
1. Do you feel offended that the cup this year isn't expressive to the holiday spirit? Why or why not?
- I do not feel offended by the cup this year that wasn't very expressive to the holiday spirit. I think the cup is still very festive since it's still red. I think the reason that Starbucks explained why is the cup only red this year make senses and it stands out more than the normal ones.
Besides the cup, Starbucks still tries to be festive, they still have christmas spirit in their food and their products besides the cups. For example, they have 'merry christmas' gift cards, 'christmas blend' coffee beans, christmas related drinks such as gingerbread latte, peppermint mocha which people can defenitly relate to the festival.
2. Do you think the matter was blown out of proportion?
- I think the matter was blown out of proportion. Although the cup has became red, there are still other festive food and christmas related products from starbucks. I think the guy just want to catch people's attention or try to be famous by having a 'revolution' about the cup.
3. If you had to redesign the red cup to appease Joshua and non-Christians, how would you design it? Sketch and explain it?
- I would add a note pad, a pencil and a world map at the back of the cup. This can demonstrates the idea that Starbucks accpets all the storys around the world and they accept all religions beliefs.
