Pam Hogg Reflection

1. If you were to buy one of the renowned catsuit of Pam Hogg which one would you buy?

- If I were to buy one of the catsuits of Pam Hogg, I would choose the wedding dress that she designed. Since wedding is something that is special and you only got to experience it once. I would want it to be special and not like those ordinary wedding dresses. Although most of her catsuits are see-throughs, I think this one is very blanced between the see-through and the covered parts. It is more appropriate and suitable for wedding and it is yet still very special. I also loved the patterns/ shapes that has been formed by the see-through and white frabics on the top. Pam Hongg used the different frabics and layers to create the different shapes and shadow which also showed her design style. The white layers that used to cover up the important parts of the body also showed her signature style design - while using transperant frabic, it's still ''wearable''.

2. What do you think about her unorthodox/ avant garde ideas? Do you also think it is a glimpse of our future fashion?

- I love her unorthodox/ avant garde ideas of designs. It's more special and different from nowadays' designs. Lately most of the common or trending designs are very simple, basic and not much creativity is seen from them. However, I personally think that there are different kind of styles and fashions, and not everyone is suitable for all the ordinary or special designs. Having more fashion styles like Pam Hogg will help create more suitable outfits for each individuals. This allows people to have their own styles and define them differently. I think more unorthodox designs did come up and it's slowly developing their space in the fashion industry. For example, in Chanel's fashion show last year, they also included see through tops on Kendall Jenner. Also, some characterists and elements in Pam Hogg's designs have also shown on other fashion acesssories, for example, bags, shoes..etc. Leading brands often forcast the future fashion trends, since Karl Lagerfeld also included these kind of designs in Dior, Chanel..leading brands, I think it is a glimpse for our future fashion. This doesn't only forcast our fashion trend in the future, it also allows new fashion designers and traditional designers to open up their minds and led the fashion industry to another stage.

1. If you had to create a similar portrait like this, who would you display on the wall and why?

- I would display someone who's influential or helped the country such as the president, big company's director..etc. In this case I would like to have Steve Jobs displayed on the wall because he's a very influential person who craeted Apple and everyone reconizge him. Also, we can remind people that Steve Jobs contributed a lot to our the technological industry and how he tried and experinment a lot of time to sucess. While being an artwork, it can also remind people about Steve Jobs's contribution and as an inspirational person.

2. Where would you want to place it?

- I would want to place it in a tall building in public. This can show how important he is to the the techonology industry and more people can see it and use him as an inspiration. Since nowadays in Hong Kong it's getting very busy and people are working non-stop. Therefore i think we will need some new inspirations for people to try new things and remind them we always need to experience to sucess. Arts in public can also change the atmosphere and make it more relaxing and comfortable.

3. Other than black and white what color would you use? Why?

- I would use bright neon colors such as red/pink, yellow, orange and green to catch people's attention. Neon colors are the most eye-catching and it has the effect to brighten up the mood and atmosphere which it's usually used at night. By displaying neon colors artwork during daytime can make people feel fresh and inspirational. This can make a big comparsion between the black and white colors that have been used before. The colors can also show how passion and how Steve Jobs led us to the new stage of technological advancement.
